Overview of role

Walkers Compliance Regulatory Services Limited (WCRSL) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals for Assistant Vice President (AML Officer Appointments).

Key Responsibilities

Act as Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (AMLCO). Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (DMLRO) to a portfolio of client entities conducting relevant financial business, to include, without limitation:

  • Oversight and monitoring Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Terrorist Financing and Anti-Proliferation Financing (AML/CFT/APF) policies and procedures to ensure that the requirements of the Cayman AML/CFT/APF regime have been adequately implemented by client entities
  • Advising the board of directors (or equivalent) of client entities on AML/CFT/APF compliance matters, including presenting AML reports at board meetings
  • Advising clients on general AML/CFT/APF matters arising.
  • Liaising with clients to document AML business risks and controls to address residual risk
  • Conducting random and periodic testing of CDD procedures

Duties

  • Where applicable, act as the main point of contact with competent authorities and respond to requests for information within the requisite periods
  • Investigating reports of suspicious activities/transactions and making onward disclosure filings as necessary
  • Ensuring that adequate AML/CFT/APF logs are maintained
  • Assisting clients with ad-hoc requests in relation to their ongoing AML/CFT/APF obligations, including in relation to internal audits, regulatory inspections and remediation projects
  • Keep abreast of industry developments and trends and collaborate closely with professional colleagues and to review new legislation, industry trends and compliance issue
  • Maintain and develop strong client relationships
  • Be responsible for maintaining Walkers' internal and external best in class client service delivery

Skills and Qualifications

  • Professional AML compliance qualification required (e.g. ACAMS or ICA) or qualification prior to expiration of probationary period
  • Minimum 5 years' risk and AML compliance experience
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized university or college with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a legal, compliance, audit, accounting or regulatory role within the financial services industry

Competencies

  • Knowledge of investment fund, insurance and structured finance entities
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with staff, management and diverse international clients
  • Excellent presentation skills and willingness to train and develop junior staff
  • Demonstrate ability to autonomously manage a portfolio of clients with minimal supervision
  • Participate in continuously improving services
  • Work in a flexible and professional manner, including working beyond normal business hours when needed and have a willingness to respond positively lo changing circumstances and emergency situations.
