Overview of role

Based in the Dubai office, the Assistant Vice President (AVP) will be responsible for a high volume of new transactions as well as the management and administration of a portfolio of companies and other structure finance vehicles. You will also work closely with the Walkers law firm to deliver best in class service to our clients.

 

Maintaining and managing a portfolio of client companies and other structured finance vehicles focusing on the fiduciary obligations and mitigating areas of fiduciary risk.

Ensure best practice quality control and the Walkers Way culture is embedded across all aspects of your work.

Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification

  • Managing tight timelines dealing with clients and counsel directly all in real time and on an ongoing basis.
  • Attending board meetings and act as alternate director or director on a wide variety of structured finance vehicles as required.
  • Assist with review of transactional documents for the mitigation of risks and transactional analysis.
  • Assisting with client on boarding KYC requests application for GIINs and completion of US tax forms.
  • Assist with the review and assessment of potential business including detailed review of all related transaction documents and the preparation of fee proposals.
  • Management of accounts receivable and initial billing for own portfolio.
  • Ensure regulatory and compliance guidelines are adhered to.
  • Ensure the proprietary database is completed with accurate data from the take on point of the client through to closing of the transaction noting relevant transactions dates and annual deliverables.
  • Coordinating and supporting the directors in the execution of various transactional documents.
  • Maintaining and organising Cayman and Onshore transaction documents in compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Inputting transaction data into relevant systems.
  • Updating and ongoing maintenance of share registers.
  • Preparing transaction structure charts assessing compliance requirements and obtaining necessary documentation prior to client onboarding.
  • Assisting with the invoicing process and collection of receivables.
  • Assist with the review and completion of pre and post closing checklists.
  • Providing guidance and mentoring of junior team members.
  • Initiate lead or assist with ad hoc projects as necessary and
  • Understanding and knowledge of the broader WPS service lines as part of the broader WPS team.

Education, Skills & Experience

  • Professional qualification or a relevant degree in business or finance.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' work experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in marketing and client relations.
  • Individual must be professional with a strong desire to consistently strive for excellence, taking pride in carrying out their responsibilities efficiently with impeccable execution.
  • An appreciation for strong corporate governance practices.
  • Awareness of local and international issues affecting the financial industry.
  • Energized by a continuous learning environment.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong administrative skills with well-developed critical thinking skills; and
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Special Requirements

Ability and willingness to occasionally work outside normal working hours/days when requested or required due to inter-office interaction with other Walkers' offices.
