Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification

As a senior member of the team, you will report directly into the Senior Vice President. You will have primary responsibility for managing the delivery of financial reporting and accounting services assigned to you. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage a team of qualified and part-qualified accountants, ensuring the delivery of all accounting and taxation contractual and statutory obligations within agreed timelines;
  • Oversee the delivery of services to your assigned client portfolio, ensuring a high-quality, responsive, and professional service is provided at all times;
  • Ensure that your team is adequately resourced and trained to meet the needs of all stakeholders;
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, while actively contributing to process improvements within the wider team;
  • Effectively establish and manage relationships with your assigned clients and stakeholders;
  • Lead interactions with Irish Revenue and the Central Bank of Ireland with respect to ongoing queries that may arise;
  • Act as an escalation point for clients, auditors and other key service providers;
  • Manage and coordinate competing client, statutory and tax deadlines;
  • Support the development of departmental plans, contributing to the broader strategic direction and growth of the business;
  • Gain an understanding of the financial management element of the WCSIL business, being aware of fee arrangements in place and providing input into time required to service a new client/services;
  • Have an awareness of opportunities to grow the business through existing client relationships and potential new clients;
  • Participate in business development meetings and support the presentation and promotion of services to clients;
  • Act as a director on a number of client entities;
  • Develop a strong awareness of legal and regulatory requirements and lead implementation of new obligations;
  • Support the delivery of internal projects, regulatory initiatives and ad hoc workstreams;
  • Collaborate with other Walkers offices in other jurisdictions on complex, cross-border structures; and
  • Work closely with the wider Walkers law firm, engaging with legal and tax professionals to deliver integrated solutions for complex client structures.

Education, Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of six years’ experience in a relevant accounting, financial services or corporate administration role, with progression to management;
  • ACA/ACCA qualified with strong academic credentials;
  • Demonstrates a specialised depth and breadth of industry expertise, particularly in complex accounting matters and financial standards;
  • Ability to manage and lead a team of qualified and part-qualified accountants, ensuring delivery of high-quality client services across structured finance and aviation finance SPVs;
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills, with the ability to develop, manage, motivate and train team members;
  • Ability to think on their feet, plan effectively and manage multiple priorities;
  • Proactive, solution-driven, with energy and enthusiasm; and
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-facing environment requiring high standards of service delivery.
