Overview of role

Office: Dublin (hybrid applies)

Walkers Professional Services Limited (WPSL) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the above position.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of professionals supporting clients through various regulatory filing requirements in the Cayman Islands and other jurisdictions throughout the year. The Accountant will be passionate about delivering a best-in-class service.

The following service lines will be the primary focus of the Accountant:

  • Fund Annual Returns ("FAR"); and
  • Book of Accounts ("BoA").

Responsibilities

  • Assist with multiple client facing service lines with filing deadlines including preparation and filing of Fund Annual Returns (FARs) for Cayman Islands Registered Private Funds and Holding company Annual Books of Accounts (BoAs) in support of Economic Substance Return filings.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the FAR and BoA services including tracking and reporting of each aspect of the workflow, planning, execution and coordinating the timing of deliverables.
  • Corresponding with clients regarding the information required to complete the FARs, BoAs/annual accounts and other service deliverables.
  • Responsible for the preparation, oversight, and review of FARs, BoAs/annual accounts and other deliverables prepared by junior team members (preparers), providing on the job support and task delegation for junior team members.
  • Assist with the resolution of technical queries, ensuring consistency in approach across all clients.
  • Liaise with attorneys, auditors and other relevant parties regarding the review and filing of FARs and other service deliverables, on-going issues, and responding to queries in a timely manner.
  • Assist with ensuring the timely billing for services rendered.
  • Assist with the implementation of service line procedures, process documentation and changes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, whilst actively contributing to process improvements.
  • Other tasks and projects as required by the business from time to time.

Requirements

  • The Accountant should hold an internationally recognised accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent) and a minimum of 2 years' relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Prior Fund audit / reporting experience would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) Fund regulations and FAR regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to analyse financial statements. General working knowledge and understanding of US GAAP and IFRS would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office suite of applications with advanced Excel skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, show attention to detail, plan and prioritise work effectively.
  • Ability to work independently to complete a large volume of FARs and other service deliverables within a limited time frame is essential.
  • Ability work in a team, manage self and others to foster a spirit of teamwork and excellence enabling cohesion and the sharing of ideas.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Deliver the highest level of client service.
  • Strong organisational skills and an enthusiastic attitude to learn and enhance skills will contribute to the success of the candidate.
