The Role

Walkers is currently seeking to recruit a recently qualified lawyer or accountant who has completed or is in the process of completing the AITI Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) exams to join their busy and growing Tax group in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a progressive market leading financial services law firm and obtain excellent market relevant training.

 

The Walkers Tax team advise domestic and international corporations and financial institutions on a wide range of financial and commercial transactions, including debt capital markets, general corporate tax, investment funds, aircraft leasing, mergers and acquisitions, cross border tax planning, and real estate work.

 

In this role, you will work closely with the tax partners on a diverse range of tax technical matters. The role will involve assisting in advising clients directly and in conjunction with other practice groups and will include ongoing training, mentoring and support. The role will report to the Head of Tax

Requirements

Applicants must be a qualified lawyer or accountant (NQ to 1-3 years PQE) and have passed or be in the process of completing their CTA exams and have relevant experience working in tax in a recognised law or accounting practice.

  • Excellent drafting skills;
  • Commercial awareness;
  • A calm and measured approach to problem solving;
  • Ability to work on own initiative but also as part of a team;
  • A willingness to work hard;
  • An ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients;
  • Previous financial services tax experience within a law firm is an advantage but is not a necessity.
