Summary
Walkers is offering a unique opportunity to an ambitious and technically strong International Tax Senior Manager to play a pivotal role in building and maintaining the various processes and controls required to ensure Walkers is meeting its compliance and operational obligations as it continues to grow internationally. In addition, this role will provide support to the business across a broad range of tax heads in several jurisdictions. The role will also support the CFO in the execution of various ad hoc projects. The role will collaborate with colleagues in the finance support team and various other corporate functions in addition to the management of external advisors as well as appropriate tax authorities.
The successful candidate will be based in the Firm's Dublin or London office, joining a global finance support team
Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
- Lead, manage and monitor the global tax affairs of the business ensuring adequate coverage of all aspects of direct and indirect tax.
- Own and manage the corporation tax and income tax compliance processes for our international corporate entities and partnerships including responsibility for ensuring all tax return filing requirements and payment deadlines are met.
- Develop our indirect taxation compliance process internationally and manage the on-going VAT and GST compliance for all our international entities.
- Maintain up-to-date tax records, ensuring proper documentation for compliance purposes.
- Responsible for managing, updating and developing the firms Group Transfer Pricing Policy with tax advisors and ensuring adherence to the policy across the firms' operations through regular communication and training across jurisdictions.
- Manage transfer pricing documentation including functional analysis, benchmarking, local file and master file obligations and country by country reporting.
- Oversee the transfer pricing calculations and work with the treasury team to assist with inter-office funding.
- Support the HR function on the tax implications of hiring or moving employees in various jurisdictions, including tax residency, social security, and employment tax issues – put in place a strategy to support a global mobility policy.
- Identify tax efficiencies and planning opportunities to ensure the business is conducted in a tax efficient manner.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and local tax authorities to manage audits and resolve tax issues effectively.
- Provide support on one off ad hoc projects, transactions and planning initiatives.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Chartered Tax Consultant (CTC), Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) or equivalent with relevant tax institute membership.
- Professional Accounting qualification preferred (ACA or equivalent).
- Relevant post qualification experience at a large, recognised accounting firm and/or tax department of a multinational company.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
- Experience in direct and indirect tax compliance.
- Ability to travel on an ad hoc basis.
