Overview of role

Office: Dublin (hybrid - 3 days per week in the office required : 2 days per week WFH)

Fixed Term Contract - 9 month Duration

 

Walkers are currently seeking an enthusiastic Financial Accountant to join its Finance team, based in the IFSC. A 9 month contract with the option of hybrid working, this is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing firm. You will be exposed to many elements of the finance function and enjoy a supportive team-based working environment.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts providing commentary and analysis.
  • Completing monthly reconciliations and analysis of balance sheet accounts and presenting findings.
  • Review intercompany reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Completion of the consolidated management accounts for the Irish entities.
  • Assist in planning, preparing and managing the annual budget and forecasting processes of the firm.
  • Management and completion of the annual audit engagement and corporation tax return obligations.
  • Liaise with the Law Society of Ireland reporting accountant to ensure timely completion and filing of the annual report.
  • Ensure VAT and VIES returns are completed and filed in advance of deadlines.
  • Ad Hoc projects as directed by the Finance Manager.

Skills and Abilities

 

  • Professional accountancy qualification (ACA or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 1-2 years' PQE with law firm or professional services experience a distinct advantage.
  • Strong academic background and technical accounting skills.
  • Positive can-do attitude, with a real interest in learning and development.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office suite of applications. Advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Excellent communication skills and focused on building and maintaining excellent working relationships across the firm.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with strong attention to detail.
  • Work independently and as a team member.
  • Tact and diplomacy to deal with confidential matters.
  • Proven analytical and problem solving abilities with an ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
