Overview of role

Walkers Professional Services is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic senior accountant to join our dynamic and growing team in Dublin. A permanent role with the option of hybrid working, you will be a senior member of the client accounting team, working closely with the Head of Accounting and the Managing Director. You will have at 2 years or more post qualification financial services experience and a desire to work in a fast paced, client facing environment. Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification

You will have a broad range of responsibilities including:

• Preparation of financial statements for a varied portfolio of capital markets and aircraft leasing SPVs
• Beginning to end responsibility for leading the preparation of financial statements, including active involvement in both audit preparation and delivery;
• Lead the on boarding of new clients from an accounting perspective
• Train and manage less experienced members of the team;
• In time take on a portfolio of SPV directorships thereby getting a broader exposure to the transaction and clients;
• Lead the interaction with auditors and the client to ensure successful completion of the financial statements;
• Manage the completion of quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of aircraft leasing SPVs;
• Liaising with the tax advisors in relation to VAT and corporation tax compliance.
• Preparation and filing of quarterly regulatory returns to Central Bank of Ireland;
• Completion of FATCA, EMIR and CRS returns; and
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, while actively contributing to process improvements within the team

Experience & Qualifications

We are seeking a qualified ACA / ACCA accountant, with at two years or more post qualification financial services experience in a relevant auditing/accounting role within a Top 10 accounting firm or corporate services company, who can demonstrate the following:

• Ability to review complicated SPV transactions from an accounting perspective and lead the on boarding and delivery of all related accounting requirements;
• Strong technical accounting knowledge;
• Experience at either performing an audit or preparing for and answering audit queries;
• Prior experience in managing audit trainees/newly qualified accountants;
• Experience in a financial reporting role would be an advantage
• Proficiency in using MS Office suite with advanced Excel skills is essential;
• Excellent communication skills
• Highly self-motivated and directed, with strong attention to detail
• The candidate should be able to think on their feet, show attention to detail and resourcefulness, and have strong communication and organisational skills. An enthusiastic attitude is essential
