Office : Dublin
Working Arrangements: 3 days onsite
Walkers Professional Services is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic accountant to join our dynamic and growing team in Dublin. A permanent role with the option of hybrid working, you will be a senior member of the client accounting team, working closely with the Heads of Accounting and the Managing Director. You will have at least 1 year or more post qualification financial services experience and a desire to work in a fast paced, client facing environment. The Person
We are seeking a qualified ACA / ACCA accountant, with at least 1 year or more post qualification financial services experience in a relevant auditing/accounting role within a Top 10 accounting firm or corporate services company, who can demonstrate the following:
- Ability to review complicated SPV transactions from an accounting perspective and lead the on boarding and delivery of all related accounting requirements;
- Strong technical accounting knowledge;
- Experience at either performing an audit or preparing for and answering audit queries;
- Prior experience in managing audit trainees/newly qualified accountants;
- Experience in a financial reporting role would be an advantage;
- Proficiency in using MS Office suite with advanced Excel skills is essential;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with strong attention to detail;
- The candidate should be able to think on their feet, show attention to detail and resourcefulness, and have strong communication and organisational skills. An enthusiastic attitude is essential.
Duties & Responsibilities
You will have a broad range of responsibilities including:
- Preparation of financial statements for a varied portfolio of capital markets and aircraft leasing SPVs;
- Beginning to end responsibility for leading the preparation of financial statements, including active involvement in both audit preparation and delivery;
- Leading the on boarding of new clients from an accounting perspective;
- Training and managing less experienced members of the team;
- In time taking on a portfolio of SPV directorships thereby getting a broader exposure to the transaction and clients;
- Leading the interaction with auditors and the client to ensure successful completion of the financial statements;
- Managing the completion of quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of aircraft leasing SPVs;
- Liaising with the tax advisors in relation to VAT and corporation tax compliance;
- Preparation and filing of quarterly regulatory returns to Central Bank of Ireland;
- Completion of FATCA, EMIR and CRS returns; and
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures, while actively contributing to process improvements within the team.
