Overview of role
Walkers is a leading international law and professional services firm providing legal, corporate and fiduciary services to global corporations, financial institutions, capital market participants and investment fund managers. With a global presence spanning the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, we advise on the jurisdictions of Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Ireland and Jersey.
Walkers invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the above role. Based in Ireland, with the option of hybrid working from our Dublin office or fully remote working, the Senior Risk Assurance Advisor (Internal Audit) will play a pivotal role in the establishment, design and operation of the Internal Monitoring team within Walkers Professional Services ("WPS").
To support a fast-growing business, WPS is centralising risk assurance operations related activities into this newly established function. The team will take over existing activities, ensuring WPS' continued adherence to agreed standards (across service lines, teams and jurisdictions), operational processes, corporate governance, data assurance and quality standards, minimising exceptions and errors, identifying causes of leakage and other areas.
Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
- Perform audits, reviews and testing over key operational processes and key controls
- Prepare detailed reports outlining risk advisory, internal audit findings and recommendations
- Continuously and proactively monitor and assess areas of regulator interest
- Deep dive into delivery and management practices and outputs for accuracy and compliance
- Maintain efficient, effective, and management-directed operations
- Identify areas of improvement (process compliance, efficiency, growth etc.), sign off and work with key teams who will take recommendations forward
- Work with finance and jurisdiction leads to identify and address areas of leakage
- Review delivery against agreed SLAs / KPIs / KRIs
- Prepare and share management reporting on audit activities and findings
- Assist in the design of process to ensure Compliance with regulatory driven change
- Support with remediation efforts
Education, Skills & Experience
- Qualification relevant to internal or external auditing such as ACA, ACCA, IIA or similar.
- Experience working in either financial services, trust and company service providers, legal firms.
- Strong understanding of the regulations and processes in offshore jurisdictions an advantage.
- Preferred 3 years’ experience handling complex audit-like requirements independently or in a team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail to review large amounts of data and numbers.
