Walkers Professional Services Limited (WPSL) is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic team in the Cayman Islands. Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
- Responsible for accounting processes and tasks such as journal entry postings, balance sheet and P&L reconciliations for multiple legal entities.
- Review and approval of all expense items, ensuring that appropriate documentation is presented with all third-party payments.
- Responsible for the training and supervision of the accounts assistants.
- Ensure timely, accurate monthly and quarterly closing and financial reporting to Management.
- Provide financial information to Management by researching and analysing accounting data.
- Responsible for the preparation of statutory accounts compliant with IFRS and manage the annual audit process.
- Liaising with auditors to ensure the successful completion of the statutory accounts.
- Assist in new processes and system development and implementation.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, while actively contributing to process improvements.
- Other tasks and projects as required by the business from time to time.
Education, Skills & Experience
- A recognised professional accounting designation (ACA/CA/CPA).
- In-depth technical knowledge and understanding of IFRS are essential.
- Prior statutory reporting and audit experience for operating entities is advantageous.
- At least 3 years of demonstrable relevant work experience in professional services (ideally within a legal, financial services, or accounting firm) covering systems, operations, and finance.
- Proven experience in working with multiple legal entities across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience with consumption and corporate tax, as well as transfer pricing, within an international or offshore context would be highly advantageous.
- A demonstrated track record of effective systems design, testing, and implementation.
- Proficiency in using MS Office suite of applications with advanced Excel3 is necessary.
- The successful candidate should have the ability to work to deadlines, show attention to detail, and be able to plan and prioritize their work effectively.
- Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, and an enthusiastic attitude to learn and enhance their skills will contribute to the success of the candidate.
- Ability to work4 effectively in a team and to share workloads when required is necessary.
