Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification

WPS invites applications from suitably qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Vice President (AVP).

 

  • Act as a director on a wide variety of structured finance vehicles including note issues, CLOs, note programmes, partnerships and share trustee structures, attending board meetings and fulfilling all fiduciary duties as appropriate;
  • Demonstrate the ability to analyse deal documents, raising any deal/structural issues, managing tight-timelines, dealing with clients and counsel directly all in real time;
  • Assisting with client on-boarding, KYC requests, application for GIIN's and completion of US tax forms;
  • Review and assess potential business including detailed review of all related transaction documents and the preparation of fee proposals;
  • Management of accounts receivable and initial billing for own portfolio;
  • Ensure regulatory and compliance guidelines are adhered to;
  • Ensure the proprietary database is completed with accurate data from the take-on point of the client through to closing of the transaction noting relevant transactions dates and annual deliverables including the preparation of annual compliance certificates;
  • Preparing for execution and distribution of corporate documents;
  • Maintaining and organising Cayman and Onshore transaction documents in iManage;
  • Inputting relevant transaction data into relevant systems;
  • Updating and ongoing maintenance of share/subordinated note registers;
  • Preparing transaction structure charts, working with Compliance team to assess compliance requirements and obtaining documentation as necessary from clients;
  • Assist with the completion of pre and post-closing checklists;
  • Managing and mentoring of junior team members
  • File set-up/close-out of files; and
  • Initiate, lead or assist with ad hoc projects as necessary.

Education, Skills & Experience

  • Professional qualification or a relevant degree in business, law or finance
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant structured finance or fiduciary services experience in financial services.
  • In-depth knowledge of strong corporate governance practices
  • Proven experience in asset and structured finance vehicles
  • Demonstrated understanding of current local and global trends, regulations and challenges impacting the financial industry
  • Demonstrated experience in building strong client relationships 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
