Overview of role
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Finance and Corporate Associate to join our dynamic and growing team in the Cayman Islands. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on cutting-edge legal matters for high-profile clients. As a Finance and Corporate Associate, you will be involved in a wide range of complex legal work.
Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
- Provide technically sound legal advice and deliver highly responsive client service.
- Assist in developing and expanding client relationships, contributing to the Firm's success and becoming a valued resource to clients.
- Support colleagues and partners on matters critical to the Firm.
- Leverage the global network to enhance the Firm's resources.
- Maintain a consistent record of revenue generation and profitability. Adhere to recommended billing rates, manage costs effectively, and ensure personal utilization meets expectations.
- Adhere to the Firm's values and professional ethics, proactively seeking resolution of conflicts.
- Actively participate in the maintenance, development, and sharing of best practices and knowledge. Occasionally participate in relevant conferences and seminars and share valuable insights. Participate in internal training programs.
- Actively engage in recruitment efforts. Lead and mentor junior staff and article clerks.
- Enhance the Firm's reputation through participation in internal and external activities. Proactively identify and help resolve issues. Contribute as requested to Firmwide, regional, and/or local committees.
Education, Skills & Experience
- Qualified senior Commonwealth lawyer with a minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience at an international law firm.
- Excellent academic record with top-tier international experience.
- Ambitious and commercially driven with a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment as a strong team player. Willing to support others, regardless of personal role or task, and assist in identifying development needs and crafting development plans.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in an offshore jurisdiction and/or familiarity with offshore financial service providers is preferred.
- Proven ability to effectively use legal precedents and navigate timekeeping and billing systems.
- Demonstrated ability to support efforts to attract new clients and develop new initiatives.
- In-depth and current legal knowledge and subject matter expertise. Applies knowledge to deliver high-quality service. Communicates effectively and displays effective management, quality control, and oversight of teams and client matters.
- Strong skills in practice management and client relationship building.
