Overview of role
An opportunity has arisen for a Conflicts Administrator to join our Office of General Counsel team. The role will provide conflicts support globally with conflicts analysis, escalations and reporting.
The role requires knowledge of applicable professional conflicts rules and a good understanding of the client base and nature of work and transactions undertaken by Walkers. Full training will be provided but the successful applicant will be expected to supplement this with independent reading and remain up-to-date with relevant activity in the market.

Conflicts Administrator
Office of General Counsel
Salary Range US$50,000 – US$70,000
- Perform conflict searches on new clients and matters using our internal databases and conflict checking system – Intapp. Assist with searches required for lateral hires, share dealing and personal Interest requests.
- Review and analyse conflict reports, determining any actual or potential, legal or commercial conflicts of interest.
- Liaise with the firm's fee earners to gather information which pertain to the conflict check.
- Escalate complex or high risk conflict issues to senior conflict team members or work with the team manager to get to the next course of action.
- Be able to monitor and track ongoing conflict issues and ensure a timely resolution. This includes responding promptly to queries regarding conflict checks and being able to provide status updates to the relevant stakeholder.
- Conduct corporate research to obtain ownership structures and understand the group structure of potential clients and/or matter parties.
- Assist with the drafting of basic conflicts and confidentiality waivers, information barrier requests or escalate engagement term requests to the in-house legal team where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate client and matter records to ensure that emails and discussions are properly documented and auditable.
- Assist with local, regional and global conflicts projects as required.
- From time to time, being able to assist with data clean up of the system and quality improvement initiatives.
- Keeping abreast of legal and regulatory developments impacting conflicts.
- Carry out any other duties commensurate with the purpose of the role, including the performance of duties outside working hours when required and work in a flexible manner.
Education, Skills & Experience
- Graduate with some experience in an international risk and compliance function preferred.
- Practical knowledge of preventing, identifying and managing conflicts of interest.
- Knowledge of professional conflicts rules.
- Experience using Intapp or a similar onboarding tool is preferred although full training will be provided
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with partners, employees and (where appropriate) with the firm's clients.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Client- focused and commercial aptitude.
- Ability to work under pressure and responsive to the expectations of partners and clients.
- Able to prioritise competing demands, excellent time management and organisational skills.
