Overview of role
Based in the Cayman Islands the Global Business Generation Lead will operate globally but with a particular focus on the North American market. You will support Walkers Professional Services ("WPS") CEO and other senior directors, while working in close collaboration with law firm colleagues and the business development and marketing function to source and convert new business leads from new clients to Walkers.
The Global Business Generation Lead will be tasked with building relationships with intermediaries, referrers as well as target asset managers and other industry participants, as well as with our critical internal stakeholders with a view to achieving revenue targets.
Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Working alongside WPS senior management and key Walkers law firm and marketing personnel to identify and engage new prospects across our target sectors
- Develop integrated and collaborative sales campaigns in partnership with key stakeholders to raise awareness and visibility of WPS services
- Attend key industry conferences and events and drive follow-up activity to secure introductions to prospects
- Optimisation and, where possible, automation of the sales process
- Track key performance indicators to assess effectiveness of business generation strategies; prepare and present regular updates to senior management
- Manage the business development forecasting process to ensure adequate resources to fund initiatives and achieve objectives.
Education, Skills & Experience
The Global Business Generation Lead should be educated to degree standard and have a minimum of ten years' experience working in business-to-business sales, ideally within professional services. In addition, they should have the following experience and competencies:
- Minimum 5 years' experience leading business development in new markets across North America or globally
- Proven ability in the design and delivery of business development programmes from which new business wins were achieved
- A proven sales track record and ideally experience working in a commission-based environment
- Knowledge of Cayman Islands laws and regulations, underpinned by the knowledge of, and ideally experience in, the US legal market
- Strong inter-personal and influencing skills
- Strong organisational and analytical ability with excellent attention to detail
- Energy, enthusiasm and solution-driven attitude
- Highly collaborative
- A preparedness to travel overseas for at least one third of a calendar year
- Attend events as required in the evenings and occasionally over weekends
- Be motivated to work within a commission-based compensation model
