Overview of role
We are seeking seasoned and dynamic marketing and business development professional to join the global marketing team based in Cayman directly leading our regional team during a six-month maternity leave. This role is pivotal in driving strategic marketing initiatives, managing business development programmes, and supporting practice and sector growth across the region.
Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
- Lead the regional marketing and business development function, ensuring alignment with firm-wide strategic priorities.
- Act as a senior advisor to partners on marketing, business development, and profile-raising initiatives.
- Champion innovation and best practice across marketing and BD activities.
- Oversee the regional marketing and BD budget, ensuring effective allocation and ROI tracking.
- Manage and mentor a team of marketing and BD professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Oversee workload allocation, professional development, and performance reviews.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination across the team and with global colleagues.
- Lead business development programmes that contribute to the achievement of the firm's strategy.
- Analyse data and market intelligence to identify, create strategy and pursue new business opportunities.
- Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing and BD campaigns, including thought leadership, events, digital marketing, and client targeting.
- Support pitch and proposal strategy for high-value opportunities.
- Oversee and ensure guardianship of the firm's brand.
- Build strong relationships with partners and business services teams.
- Collaborate with global marketing, BD and communications colleagues to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing.
Education, Skills & Experience
- Degree qualified, or certified Chartered Institute of Marketing diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 15 years' marketing and BD experience in the legal industry and at a management level in a sophisticated marketing team.
- Successful management of key account and client feedback programmes in a law firm setting.
- International experience gained through education or working experience is desired.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite including PowerBI, working with CRM systems and integrated is essential.
- Proven experience in mentoring and developing marketing and BD professionals.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent strategic thinking and project management skills.
- Ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders.
- Able to analyse, interpret and present data.
- Commercially astute with strong budget management experience.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be available to work in the Cayman office on office days throughout December 2025.
- Able to work outside core hours from time to time or during intense work periods for the team.
