Overview of role
This is a senior position with responsibility for leading a regional team of Marketing and Business Development professionals, partnering closely with Partners and senior leadership to drive growth, strengthen client relationships and enhance the firm’s market positioning. The role acts as a key interface between regional leadership, global M&BD resources and local teams, ensuring strategic alignment, operational excellence and consistent execution.
Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
- Act as a trusted senior adviser to Partners on regional strategy, client development and market positioning.
- Champion the firm’s global marketing and business development strategy, ensuring consistent application across the Americas region
- Develop and deliver regional marketing and business development initiatives aligned to firmwide priorities and growth objectives.
- Lead cross-border and multi-jurisdictional business development and client engagement programmes.
- Drive strategic account management and cross-selling initiatives in partnership with lawyers across practices and jurisdictions.
- Identify key sources of business and revenue, using data-driven insights to develop and execute targeted growth programmes.
- Enhance and oversee the regional business planning and budgeting process, ensuring effective allocation of M&BD investment and measurable return.
- Lead, develop and motivate a high-performing regional Marketing and Business Development team, fostering capability growth and operational excellence.
- Promote best-practice business development processes, operational consistency and compliance with regional policies and brand standards.
- Encourage the use of data, CRM and digital platforms to improve decision-making, efficiency and accuracy of information.
Education, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications or Business from a recognised international institution.
- Minimum of 10–15 years’ progressive business development experience within professional services, including at least five years in a senior leadership role supporting regional or multi-jurisdictional operations; legal sector experience is essential.
- Proven success in developing and executing B2B marketing and business development strategies that deliver measurable revenue growth and enhanced client relationships.
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic account management and Partner engagement within a partnership environment.
- Extensive experience leading and developing high-performing marketing and business development teams across multiple functions.
- Strong commercial and analytical capability, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI, and deep experience with CRM, digital marketing and social media platforms.
