Overview of role
Driven by the sustained growth and success of our pre-eminent Structured Finance team, Walkers Fiduciary Services in Cayman is seeking a highly accomplished Independent Director. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to provide strategic leadership while managing a diverse portfolio of both new and established transactions. Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
- Serve as an Independent Director on a diverse portfolio of structured finance vehicles including note issues, CLOs, note programmes, partnerships, and share trustee structures, attending board meetings and fulfilling all fiduciary duties as appropriate.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for a team of qualified Fiduciary professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and retention.
- Liaise effectively with attorneys, investment managers, investment bankers, and other relevant parties concerning the establishment of new business and ongoing matters, ensuring timely and comprehensive responses to queries.
- Review and assess potential business opportunities, including detailed analysis of all related transaction documents and the preparation of fee proposals and new business acceptance approval requests for senior management as required.
- Proactively identify and pursue business development opportunities to expand Fiduciary Services' market presence and client base.
- Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to efficient and flawless execution in all responsibilities.
- Manage accounts receivable and initial billing for your portfolio.
- Ensure strict adherence to all relevant regulatory and compliance guidelines.
- Contribute to and assist in the development of annual and long-term business plans.
- Maintain the integrity of the proprietary database with accurate and timely data management throughout the client lifecycle.
- Identify, assess, and provide expert guidance on mitigating key risk areas within structured finance transactions.
- Drive continuous improvement by proactively identifying and recommending enhancements to systems and processes.
- Initiate, lead, or contribute to ad hoc projects as necessary.
Education, Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will possess a relevant professional qualification or a degree in Business or Finance, complemented by a minimum of 7 to 10 years of demonstrable experience within the structured finance sector. Candidates currently operating at a VP or SVP level are strongly encouraged to apply and should possess the following essential skills and experience:
- Proven experience in a broad range of structured finance vehicles.
- In-depth knowledge of strong corporate governance practices.
- Awareness of local and international issues affecting the financial industry.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with the ability to draw strategic insights.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional client relationship management skills with a proven ability to build and maintain long-term, trusted partnerships.
- Highly collaborative with a proven ability to foster a high-performing team environment, encouraging open communication, shared goals, and cohesive working.
- Dynamic, highly driven, and organised.
- Advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
