Overview of role
The Lead Senior Knowledge Lawyer is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering Walkers’ global knowledge management strategy, harmonising legal resources across jurisdictions, and managing a team to ensure best-in-class knowledge sharing and legal support across the firm.
Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
- Oversee creation and maintenance of precedents, know-how, practice notes and client-facing materials.
- Develop and implement global knowledge management strategies, including technological initiatives and harmonisation of legal resources across jurisdictions.
- Manage Cayman-based Knowledge Management team and coordinate training for lawyers and support staff on knowledge resources.
- Support learning and development initiatives and collaborate with practice groups and business services teams.
- Lead governance and compliance activities, including review and dissemination of legislation and regulatory updates.
- Act as secretary or chair for key committees and working groups as required.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across offices and departments to promote knowledge sharing and adoption of KM platforms.
Education, Skills & Experience
- Qualified lawyer with 15+ years’ PQE in a top-tier law firm.
- Proven leadership in knowledge management and strategic initiatives, preferably in a law firm environment.
- Experience managing global Knowledge Management projects and cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of Knowledge Management tools, systems and processes, including SharePoint and document automation software.
- Familiarity with data governance, taxonomy design and metadata standards.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and change management skills.
- Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
