Overview of role

As a Marketing & Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth and supporting the strategic objectives of our Insurance and Fintech groups across the Americas Region. You will be responsible for identifying prospective clients, acquiring new business, and enhancing competitive resiliency. This position is a 6-month fixed-term contract role.

 

 

Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification

  • Develop a deep understanding of the target markets and contribute to the formulation and execution of practice development plans.
  • Monitor current and potential product areas to identify relevant industry developments and keep lawyers informed.
  • Work with partners to support and manage practice business development plans and budgets.
  • Support individual partner BD plans, focusing on profiling, raising, and development.
  • Provide day-to-day support on client-focused initiatives, including:
    • Targeted lead generation
    • Pitch document and fee proposal production
    • Bid support and strategic bid coaching
    • Strategic support on marketing trips, conferences, and events
    • Cross-selling opportunity identification and implementation
  • Spearhead and drive internal BD initiatives and projects, designing and implementing strategic roadmaps, managing KPIs, and conducting ROI analysis and management reporting.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop direct reports.
  • Collaborate with other members of the business development team, as well as the broader events, marketing technology, communications, and business service teams to ensure seamless project and assignment completion.

 

Education, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing or a related field such as business, communications, or law; advanced degree (MBA) desirable.
  • Minimum of 5-7+ years of business development or consultancy experience, at least two years in a professional services environment at a managerial level.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems (e.g., InterAction), web platforms (e.g., Sharepoint & Teams), and data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBi).
  • Experience in legal marketing or business development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
