Overview of role

The Power Platform Apps role is a key position within the Global Engineering Team, part of the firm's global IT Department. As a Power Apps Developer, you will be responsible for the technical implementation of strategic Microsoft Power Platform-based solutions.

Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification

  • Develop Power Platform-based solutions aligned with best practices and the firm's Centre of Excellence, meeting design requirements and validation criteria.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Business Analysts to understand requirements and execute designs for enterprise technical solutions.
  • Work within a team of cloud developers to deliver enterprise-grade solutions for Walkers' legal tech platforms.
  • Ensure adherence to Walkers' standards, patterns, principles, and development best practices by all team members.
  • Conduct peer reviews of code and implementations.
  • Create and maintain pipelines for Power Apps solutions.
  • Own the creation of build and deployment artifacts and collaborate with operations teams for seamless rollout of enterprise technical solutions.
  • Help the Digital Delivery Team adopt modern software delivery methodologies, such as Agile and DevOps.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation using the firm's existing templates.
  • Advise in-house delivery teams on new systems and technologies.

Education, Skills & Experience

  • University degree in Computer Science or related field, or 5+ years of IT experience
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate
  • Expertise in building Model-Driven and Canvas Applications using the Power Platform, leveraging Azure and M365 Services
  • Proven experience working in cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies
  • Experience leveraging Dataverse, including creating and using Data Connectors
  • In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform (Apps, BI, Automate, Virtual Agents) and integrating on-premises data with Azure on-prem Data Gateway
  • Experience building solutions that work with Dynamics 365 ERP and/or CI (preferred, not required)
  • Understanding of data services such as Dataverse, Azure Synapse, Data Gateway, Data Warehouse, and integration with Azure ML and Cognitive Services
  • PL-400: Microsoft Power Platform Developer certification preferred, but not required
  • Minimum 5 years of IT experience, with 2-3 years in Power App Developer roles
  • Experience with cloud-based development environments (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub)
  • Familiarity with specific Power Platform components (e.g., Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents)
