Walkers Compliance Regulatory Services Limited (WCRSL) invites applications from suitably qualified Caymanians or Residency with Employment Rights Certificate holders for the position of Vice President (AML Officer Appointments).

Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification

Act as Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (AMLCO), Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (DMLRO) to a portfolio of client entities conducting relevant financial business, to include, without limitation:


•           Oversight and monitoring Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Terrorist Financing and Anti-Proliferation Financing (AML/CFT/APF) policies and procedures to ensure that the requirements of the Cayman Islands AML/CFT/APF regime have been adequately implemented by client entities

•           Advising the board of directors (or equivalent) of client entities on AML/CFT/APF compliance matters, including presenting AML reports at board meetings

•           Advising clients on general AML/CFT/APF matters arising

•           Liaising with third parties, such as fund administrators and investment managers, to ensure that appropriate AML controls are implemented as necessary

•           Conducting random and periodic testing of fund administrator's AML procedures

•           Where applicable, act as the main point of contact with competent authorities and respond to requests for information within the requisite periods

•           Investigating reports of suspicious activities / transactions and making onward disclosure filings as necessary

•           Ensuring that adequate AML/CFT/APF logs are maintained

•           Assisting clients with ad-hoc requests in relation to their ongoing AML/CFT/APF obligations, including in relation to internal audits, regulatory inspections and remediation projects

Job Responsibilities


In addition, successful candidates will also:

  • Keep abreast of industry developments and trends and collaborate closely with professional colleagues to review new legislation, industry trends and compliance issues
  • Be responsible for contributing to the development of Walkers’ internal and external best in class services and processes
  • Maintain and develop strong client relationships
  • Manage a team of junior staff including allocation of work, providing training and support
  • Initiate and assist with marketing and thought leadership initiatives
  • Drive the development of complementary service offerings

Education, Skills & Experience

•           In-depth experience of Cayman Islands AML legislation and related regulatory guidance, knowledge of BVI legislation would be viewed as a positive

•           Professional AML compliance certification required (e.g. ACAMS or ICA), or a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university or college with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in a legal, compliance, audit, accounting or regulatory role within the financial services industry

•           Prior experience acting as AMLCO and MLRO on a portfolio of investment funds, which would include reporting to the fund boards

•           In-depth knowledge of investment funds and structured finance entities

•           Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with staff, management and diverse international clients

•           Excellent presentation skills and willingness to manage, train and develop junior staff

•           Demonstrate ability to autonomously manage a portfolio of clients with minimal supervision

•           Participate in continuously improving services through critically evaluating systems of work, promoting new ideas and actively developing service improvements

•           Ability to work in a flexible and professional manner, including working beyond normal business hours when needed and have a willingness to respond positively to changing circumstances and urgent matters.


Compensation Data

Walkers offers a dynamic working environment with opportunities for career progression and an excellent remuneration package, including a discretionary performance based bonus, pension and fully covered health insurance. Remuneration commensurate with qualifications and experience

and will be up to US$135,000.00
