We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Vice President (VP) within our Fiduciary team.
The VP will manage and administer a portfolio of companies while delivering best in class service to our clients. There will be a significant focus on the VPs ability to win new business and cross sell into other service lines within WPS. This will include working closely with global Walkers legal teams and internal WPS stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions to enhance our competitive position and achieve our strategic objectives.
Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
- Act as a director on a wide variety of structured finance and bespoke transactions, including but not limited to CLOs, CFOs, Note Issuers and DPRs;
- Be the assigned relationship manager for a large portfolio of client entities, including a book of share trustee mandates, and discharging all fiduciary duties appropriately;
- Analyse transaction documents and progress specific deal issues as necessary in line with internal procedures and guidelines;
- Entrepreneurial attitude in terms of assessing new potential business and cross selling products within WPS, including the preparation of fee proposals and new business acceptance approval requests, where necessary, to senior management;
- Liaise with attorneys, investment managers, audit firms and other relevant parties concerning the setting up of new business and on-going issues;
- Managing tight-timelines and responding to clients and counsel in a timely manner is essential, in an email intensive/high volume environment;
- Ensure the proprietary database is completed with accurate data from the take-on point of the client through to closing of the transaction, capturing all relevant transactional data and key annual obligations/deliverables;
- Excellent understanding of all local regulatory regimes (BO, ES, AML.AEOI) and ensuring all regulatory and compliance guidelines are always adhered to;
- Attendance at industry conferences and targeted client events where required is mandatory;
- Management of accounts receivable and initial billing for own portfolio;
- Identify key risk areas and provide guidance on solutions for risk management;
- Managing and mentoring of junior team members;
- Initiate, lead or assist with ad hoc departmental projects as necessary.
Education, Skills & Experience
- A relevant university degree in business, law, accounting or finance, and/or a professional qualification (CA, ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent), is required;
- Minimum of 8 years relevant financial services experience, ideally with experience acting as a Director on Cayman Islands entities;
- Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of structured products and have the ability to navigate transactional documents;
- A deep understanding of the regulatory regime in Cayman Islands, with expert knowledge of corporate governance requirements;
- Strong organisational and project management skills are expected, with excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills;
- A highly driven individual with the ability to use initiative, be self-motivated and able to work independently with little supervision, and work well under pressure to complete high volumes of work under tight deadlines;
- Excellent client management skills and proven ability to retain and grow an existing client base;
- Attention to detail is paramount with demonstratable ability to audit and analyse data.;
- Will be expected to be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Outlook;
- Experience working on key transformational projects, together with an excellent knowledge of Viewpoint and Oracle would be an advantage.
