Overview of role
The Senior Finance Executive reports to the Office Managing Partners for Guernsey and the Channel Islands Head of Finance. This role requires an enthusiastic and star communicator with strong finance knowledge and a keen attention to detail as well as excellent organizational skills, and strong analytical thinking.
The primary focus of the role is to assist with a range of financial tasks. The candidate will be primarily responsible for month end postings, preparing financial reports and collaborating with various support departments and the external auditors.
Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
- Oversee month end processes. Ensure all Balance Sheet reconciliations are completed and reviewed in conjunction with the Channel Islands Head of Finance.
- Assist with the preparation of Annual Financial Statements and the associated schedules. Manage the annual audit process.
- Prepare the partnership and company tax returns for Guernsey entities for the tax agents including the various reconciliations.
- Maintain an up to date authorised signatory list and bank mandate for the Guernsey entities
- Manage the accounts payable function ensuring that all invoice are appropriately authorised by the requisite budget holders
- Manage the cashflow of the office and ensure that excess funds are placed on appropriate term deposits. Operate as an authorised signatory
- Management the workload of the finance staff in Guernsey
- Conducting frequent reviews of Work in Progress reports in conjunction with Office Managing Partners
- Oversee and manage the budget process for Guernsey in accordance within the Global timescale including discussion with stakeholder to agree plans and associated costs
- Liaise with Office Managing Partners and Channel Islands Head of Finance on regular and ad hoc requests
- Update the Finance Reporting Presentation Graphs and Powerpoint slides for the Monthly Partners meeting
- Ensure that feedback reporting against budget is undertaken for Business Support stakeholders on a quarterly basis
- Prepare and submit information for Island Statistic Office
Month-End
- Prepare and post the payroll journal
- Review all bank reconciliations
- Ensure all differences are resolved and posted in a timely manner
- Ensure that independent validation of bank statements exists
- Reconcile the Personnel Creditor control accounts
- Update bad debt provision schedules
- Post bad debt provision journals
- Update fixed asset register
- Post depreciation journals
- Reconcile Intercompany accounts
- Post journal from Cayman
- Post journal for Intercompany charges from other offices
- Notify other offices of our Intercompany charges to them
- Update prepayments schedules
- Prepare, upload and post prepayments journals
- Update accruals schedules
- Prepare, upload and post accruals journals
- Review Client Monies reconciliations
Education, Skills & Experience
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Professional accountancy qualification, ACCA or ACA. Have at least 5 years post qualified experience.
