Overview of role
Walkers Professional Services (WPS) invites applications for a Vice President, Fiduciary Services to join our growing business in Bermuda. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing directorship services, board support, and other corporate governance-related duties to a diverse range of Bermuda companies.
Education, Skills & Experience
- Discharging the fiduciary obligations of a board director for Bermuda local and exempted companies across various industries, including CLOs, special purpose financing and securitization vehicles, holding companies, insurance companies, digital asset businesses, and private trust companies.
- Attending annual and special general meetings, board and committee meetings, and taking detailed minutes for Bermuda companies, including regulated entities.
- Liaising with attorneys, investment managers, investment bankers, and other relevant parties regarding new business setup and ongoing matters.
- Analyzing deal documents, identifying potential issues, managing tight timelines, and directly interacting with clients and counsel.
- Reviewing and assessing potential business opportunities, preparing fee proposals, and obtaining new business acceptance approvals.
- Identifying key risk areas, providing risk management solutions, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and compliance guidelines.
- Managing accounts receivable and initial billing for the assigned portfolio.
- Designing, implementing, and overseeing internal controls and key operating procedures, and ensuring compliance with Walkers Bermuda and WPS policies.
- Maintaining accurate records in the proprietary database, tracking transaction dates, and recording annual deliverables.
- Developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, service providers, and key industry contacts.
- Identifying and pursuing opportunities to contribute to the growth of the WPS business within the region.
- Initiating, leading, or assisting with ad hoc projects as required.
Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
- A degree in law, accounting, or business administration from a reputable university.
- A minimum of five to seven years of relevant work experience in industry or professional practice.
- In-depth knowledge of strong corporate governance practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A solid understanding of local and international issues affecting the financial services industry, particularly in regulated financial services and/or insurance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
