Overview of role
Walkers invites applications from suitably qualified lawyers for an FS Reg Associate position in our Jersey office.
We are seeking to fill the role of Associate, an individual who will match the below key skills and qualifications to join our dynamic and high achieving supportive culture.
Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
- Ability to undertake regulatory cross-jurisdictional analysis and provide a holistic solution, an essential skill where we have multi-national clients that are facing similar regulations in different jurisdictions.
- Ability to advise on a broad range of non-contentious regulatory matters for various industry sector clients, with excellent advisory drafting skills.
- Ability to advise on contentious regulatory matters is desirable (but not mandatory), including investigations and enforcement actions.
- Ideally will have the ability to assist and advise on financial crime prevention and on sanctions-related issues.
- Must have an understanding of the financial services industry overall, including at least two of banking, insurance, securities investment business, fintech and investment funds, with a good understanding of the global and onshore regulatory landscape.
- Providing technically sound advice and highly responsive service to clients.
Education, Skills & Experience
- Qualified in the UK or in another commonwealth jurisdiction, in the latter case with a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Experience working in a top-tier domestic or international or leading offshore law firm.
- Proven track record in working on complex legal transactions.
- Demonstrated ability to perform above and beyond expectations in a fast-paced and high-performance culture while delivering an accurate and timely work product.
