BURSARY PROGRAMME 2025

Our Legal Bursary Scheme is designed to support the next generation of legal professionals by providing essential financial assistance to those passionate about pursuing a career in law. We believe that talent and ambition should never be limited by financial barriers. Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification

We are looking for students in Jersey who want to be part of our bursary programme for legal roles - our award is for 1 year of your course and covers:

• Financial support in instalments
• Paid summer work placements at Walkers with experience across all practice areas (over a minimum of four weeks)
• An experienced mentor to provide support and guidance
• Career advice from our experienced HR team as well as lawyers
• Possibility of a career with Walkers when you finish your degree  

Education, Skills & Experience

Our Bursary Scheme is targeted at enthusiastic, talented, proactive students with strong academics.

Applications are invited from students who will be sitting their A levels, and those already at university or undertaking GDL/LPC/Bar school studies.

You will need to submit the following as part of your application:

• A cover letter which explains why you should be considered for this award, your career aspirations, and why you want to join us
• Current CV setting out your education and work experience and any other extra-curricular achievements including charitable, sporting and community activities
• Copies of certificates
• One written character reference
• One written academic reference

The closing date for applications is 31 January 2025
