Overview of role

We are seeking a dynamic junior HR Manager to join our Human Resources team. This role is operational, supporting a wide range of HR functions including, HR Project delivery, performance management, and Learning & Development. There will be a real focus on developing early career pathways for lawyers. The HR Manager will act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, aligning HR initiatives with the firm’s goals and values.

This entry-level role is ideal for early-career HR professionals seeking to build their experience and progress within the field. The successful candidate will receive structured coaching, development opportunities, and exposure to a broad range of HR and Learning & Development activities, while contributing to Walkers’ people-focused culture

Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification

Performance & Talent Management

  • Support the annual performance review process and talent development initiatives.
  • Assist in succession planning and career development frameworks.
  • Promote a culture of continuous feedback and high performance.

HR Policy & Compliance

  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are up to date, compliant, and effectively communicated.
  • Provide guidance on policy interpretation and application.
  • Support audits and regulatory compliance as required.

HR Projects & Strategy

  • Lead or contribute to global and local HR projects aligned with the firm’s strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement change initiatives and improve employee experience.
  • Monitor HR metrics and provide insights to inform decision-making.

 

 

Education, Skills & Experience

  • Degree-level education; CIPD qualification preferred.
  • Solid recent HR experience in a professional services or corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and organisational development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused.
  • Demonstrates integrity, discretion, and sound judgment.
