Overview of role
To work as part of a team leading the delivery of legal and professional knowledge management services to a high standard and in line with our mission and vision statements.
Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
- Support as directed the strategies and processes to develop and maintain legal and professional resources for specified jurisdictions and Walkers offices, with a focus on funds and corporate law in the Channel Islands. This includes:
- precedents;
- know-how;
- client facing memos;
- practice notes;
- management of knowledge dissemination to Walkers lawyers; and
- familiarity with Walkers external resources (for example library, journal subscriptions and online resources), and may delegated as required.
Additional Duties
- Support as directed the appropriate global harmonisation of legal resources across all Walkers' offices.
- Support as directed the review and appropriate dissemination of new and proposed legislation and regulatory updates.
- Support as directed the circulation of industry and case law updates to the law firm and professional services teams.
- Train as directed new lawyers, secretaries and corporate services executives on the availability of legal resources.
- Support as directed the development and/or reinforcement of relationships with stakeholder practice groups and offices through a variety of channels including face-to-face meetings, regular group calls, attending wider practice group meetings, social events and incentive-driven projects).
- Support as directed the development and/or reinforcement of relationships with other business services departments (for example, preparing first drafts of thought leadership pieces/directory entries with the marketing and business development teams).
- Support as directed the activities of the various Precedents and Know-How Committees and/or the Global Opinion Committee, as applicable, as well as other working groups and committees by specific request.
- Support as directed the Legal and Technical Training Manager and the relevant practice groups/professional services departments as required in the development and delivery of training.
- Support as directed Law Firm Steering Committee projects and other office/regional/global projects, (which may be delegated as required).
- Support the implementation of KM strategy.
- Support other projects or perform other related duties by request from the relevant partners or directors.

COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE
Windows – Microsoft Word – Microsoft Excel – Outlook.
Knowledge of SharePoint, document management and document automation software an advantage.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A qualified lawyer with a minimum of three - five years' PQE with a funds and/or corporate law background. Previous law firm knowledge management or offshore experience an advantage.
Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the types of resources for which KM is responsible (for example, library resources, journals and online resources).
