Overview of role

This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract requirement, based in the London office (Hybrid) 

 

The Applications Analyst is responsible for the development, maintenance and support of assigned business systems. The role involves liaising closely with all the areas of the business in order to leverage the full value of systems' capabilities in line with the requirements of the firm. The incumbent applies specialist knowledge across the IT department, assisting other systems managers and administrators as necessary. The role focuses on Walkers' Financial Systems (Aderant, InTapp and Viewpoint), document management systems (iManage FileSite and SharePoint), Marketing Systems and in-house built applications.

Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification

  • Acts as subject-matter expert for the Finance, DMS and in-house built application eco-systems. Analyses and applies problem solving practices and, determines solutions and initiates corrective actions.
  • Develops and implements new functionality within assigned systems. Manages application patch levels and version upgrades.
  • Takes responsibility for maintaining the integrity and availability of all assigned systems, and for maintaining adequate provisions for the timely recovery of those systems should a failure occur. Responsible for maintaining the security of data within assigned systems.
  • Ensures that assigned systems are documented and monitored, and works with the Infrastructure team to manage capacity.
  • Coordinates integration of existing or new systems. Ensures that system configuration adheres to current policies and procedures on information security and confidentiality.
  • Participates as a resource in Information Technology projects. Liaises with all areas of the business in order to understand stakeholders' business requirements and priorities. Provides mentoring to assigned staff.
  • Maintains intimate knowledge of the business, operations, data flows and systems in order to analyse and build technical solutions to complex business requirements. Promotes and maintains quality, value, productivity, and overall effectiveness of systems and processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills, and the ability to work well as part of a geographically distributed team;
  • The ability to deliver exceptional customer service in a demanding business environment;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication including the ability to exchange information, present ideas, and to report facts clearly and concisely;
  • Ability and willingness, where necessary, to work outside normal working hours/days in order to support offices in different time zones.

Education, Skills & Experience

Applicants must have a degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in IT service delivery and support, and ideally have experience in a legal IT. The role will support the following applications, any knowledge and experience in these is advantageous:

  • An understanding of the Aderant Expert 8.2.2 practice management system, including the front-end application and back-end tables. This should include all Framework applications as well as the Classic application.
  • Good understanding of the Intapp Time Desktop and Mobile applications and the ability to support these from an end user perspective.
  • Understanding and experience of supporting the Intapp Intake & Conflicts applications
  • Good understanding of the ViewPoint front-end application and database tables, especially in the area of Entity Administration. The ability to understand ViewPoint document coding and configuration would be advantageous.
  • Understanding and experience of administering iManage
  • Understanding and experience administering Microsoft Dynamics CRM / ERP solutions and SharePoint 2019 / SharePoint Online in a multi-site environment.
  • A good understanding of Microsoft core technologies:  knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL Server. Knowledge of Web Development Technologies such as .NET Core
