Overview of role

Office: London (hybrid : 50% required)

 

Walkers is looking to hire a Compliance Assistant to join their London based Compliance function on a permanent basis.  The role will sit within Walkers Professional Services' Business Acceptance team, providing organisational and administrative support with a focus on data integrity and cleansing.  

 

This role will provide someone with a great opportunity to either enter the compliance industry, or build on some existing compliance experience within a supportive and friendly culture.  

 

Full training and support will be provided, and the intention is for the role to grow in line with the individual's development.

Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification

  • Responsible for monitoring and managing the team's shared inbox, including filing the emails to shared team workspaces
  • Managing the expectations of internal clients when required
  • Working with the team leads in allocating work from Intapp (a key compliance tool) and the inbox depending on team members' capacity and workload
  • Completing the various team MI spreadsheets and trackers used for reporting purposes
  • Responsible for ensuring the team and firm training logs are kept up-to-date, and sending reminders when required
  • Ensuring data stored in Intapp is complete, which will require migrating data from other sources into Intapp
  • Spotting errors in data and suggesting more efficient ways of upholding data integrity
  • Assisting on various compliance based projects from an organisational and administrative perspective
  • Organising team meetings, including minute taking and collating and circulating agenda items
  • Providing support to team members on an ad hoc basis
  • Undertaking the more straightforward entity approvals under supervision

Education, Skills & Experience

 

  • Graduate with a basic understanding, knowledge or interest in compliance with a focus on AML, sanctions and other financial crime.
  • Previous work experience gained in a law firm environment or alternatively in the financial services sector beneficial but not essential.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with partners, employees and (where appropriate) with the firm's clients.
  • Strong research and analytical skills and attention to detail.
