Overview of role
Office: London (50% hybrid required)
The Compliance Business Systems Lead is responsible for the strategic vision, roadmap, and delivery of the firm's compliance systems including the firm's Intapp platform and associated compliance technology. The role ensures these platforms are robust, compliant, scalable, and aligned to regulatory expectations, while supporting operational efficiency and high‑quality risk decisioning across the organisation.
The successful candidate will have line management responsibility for a small team of Intapp developers and reporting analysts, providing day‑to‑day leadership while supporting their professional development. Additionally, the role will contribute towards shaping the future Target Operating Model (TOM) for compliance systems, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations, business priorities, and technology strategy.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Own the strategic roadmap for the Intapp platform and related compliance systems.
- Ensure system capabilities align with conflicts, financial crime, AML/CTF, sanctions, and compliance requirements.
- Translate policy, regulatory obligations, and operational requirements into Intapp system features and enhancements.
- Act as Technical Lead on Compliance projects.
- Write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and system requirements for development and configuration activities.
- Act as the key liaison between Compliance, Regulatory Operations, IT, external vendors, and senior leadership.
- Oversee system configuration, releases, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance of Intapp.
- Coordinate with developers, reporting analysts, architects, and QA to ensure high‑quality delivery.
- Lead testing cycles including UAT preparation, execution, defect resolution, and release validation.
- Lead the 2nd line support of the Compliance application estate.
- Support integration work with upstream/downstream systems (e.g., CRM and Finance tools).
- Maintain documentation including system design artefacts, requirements, release notes, and risk/control evidence.
- Support audits, regulatory reviews, and assurance activities by providing system insights and documentation.
- Monitor platform stability, compliance risk indicators, reporting accuracy, and data quality.
- Drive continuous improvement, ensuring the platform evolves to meet regulatory change, business growth, and operational needs.
Education, Skills & Experience
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Graduate with relevant experience in an international compliance function role with a focus on AML and conflicts; preferably in a law firm environment or alternatively in the financial services sector.
- Advanced knowledge of Intapp Intake and Intapp Conflicts. A working knowledge of Intapp Terms and Intapp Walls would be advantageous.
- Experience migrating Intapp from on-premise to Cloud.
- Knowledge of requirements capture methods and techniques, business systems and analysis, software development lifecycles and associated processes.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with partners, employees and (where appropriate) with the firm's clients
- Strong research and analytical skills and attention to detail

- Ability to work under pressure and responsive to the expectations of partners and clients
