Overview of role

This a 12month FTC opportunity based in our London office (hybrid applies - 2 days in the office as a min) 

 

The EUC Engineer role will be part of the EUC Team whose primary function is to support, maintain, develop, and deploy new and existing technology that maintain and support Walkers EUC environments. To lead on technical project work, as well as working closely with other technology services teams to deploy new EUC services.

 

Acting as technical escalation point for other teams the role will include ownership and accountability for incidents, requests, problems, changes, and governance activities.

 

A key focus of the role is ongoing reliability, performance, and adoption of the EUC services.

Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification

  • Managing, owning, and resolving incidents, requests, or problems within the EUC Team support queue.
  • Providing 2nd and 3rd line support for systems and services supported by the EUC Team.
  • Ensure all related governance activities are completed in a timely manner.
  • Manage the environment via a combination of proactive monitoring, health-checks, and risk assessments to ensure the security, resilience, stability, and consistency of the business as usual environment.
  • Working closely with the change teams as subject matter expert in your discipline you will be expected to actively contribute to discussions on current issues and the future strategic direction for enterprise EUC services.
  • Continuously seek to improve and develop our EUC service and security management, patch management and configuration processes.
  • Ensure systems and services under your remit meet the evolving need of Walkers by providing advice, assistance and guidance associated with the planning, procurement, provision, delivery, management, maintenance and effective use of these systems and services.
  • Ensure services under your remit are covered by an agreed Business Continuity Procedure and conform to Walkers' security policy.
  • Ensure all changes to service is undertaken in accordance with the prevailing Change Management procedures, obtaining the necessary authorisations before implementing change.
  • Formally record all operational and technical issues for review and analysis. Inform the Team manager of any issue that could generate operational risk or degrade IT service and agree its priority. Investigate and coordinate the resolution of issues or problems for the services within your remit.

 

  • Review system software and firmware updates for services within your remit and identify those that merit action, making recommendations for implementation to your manager.
  • Monitor the market to gain knowledge and understanding of emerging technologies and products within your area of expertise. Assess their relevance and potential value to the organisation and brief your Team manager.
  • Ensure all communications, both written and verbal, are clear, concise, and delivered in a professional manner to all stake holders.
  • When requested, contribute to audits of existing and planned technology systems, operational processes, and procedures.
  • Undertake any other tasks as requested by your line manager, documenting dates, issues and actions arising.

Education, Skills & Experience

Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals

Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate

ITIL V4 Foundation

 

Extensive experience of deploying and servicing Windows 10 and M365 Apps for Enterprise.

Configuration, deployment, and adoption of M365 workloads.
