Overview of role

The Finance Systems Lead will support the CFO in the execution of a Finance Transformation Program, which involves the implementation of a new cloud-based Finance ERP solution (Oracle Fusion Cloud), enabled by the roll-out of a new Target Operating Model (TOM) that will deliver simplified, standardised, global processes supported by a strong systems platform allowing for increased automation and productivity.

 

The person appointed will help ensure the Finance strategy is adequately supported by the new ERP system, working directly with Finance & Transformation leadership, Project Management Office, and other key stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and enhancements to the system. The Finance Systems Lead will ensure and realise maximum value of ERP system for the organisation through the Finance Transformation project and leveraging the new TOM. This essentially means collaborating closely with partner & vendor teams and ensuring all the product requirements are well defined and executed in time.

 

The Development of a post-implementation roadmap to ensure stabilization and optimal performance will form a key objective.  The Finance Systems Lead will design and build a fit for purpose support infrastructure and have overall responsibility for delivering both the user support requirements within the organization and the technical quarterly upgrades by the ERP system provider. 

 

Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification

  • Perform a leading role in the project to Implement the new Finance ERP system, acting as a Functional Lead
  • Responsible for the maintenance and support of the new Finance ERP system in business as usual, working closely with Finance and IT leadership
  • Key point of contact for those in technology and business for all matters relating to the Finance Platform
  • Responsible for running the system support infrastructure within the organization, tracking and measuring performance and effectiveness
  • Responsible for ensuring system changes following the internal IT governance processes
  • Responsible for providing clear analytics and insights to support strategic and tactical decision making across the organisation
  • Responsible for understanding the wider Finance strategy and agenda to provide day-to-day support and contribute to its future shape
  • Act as the lead change contact for Finance; responsible for managing the Finance change roadmap
  • Provide periodic progress reports to the Chief Finance Officer and Finance Transformation Director
  • Work directly with vendor partner teams to ensure Finance system developments are executed in line with the department's requirements, within the agreed timeframes
  • Evaluate the work done by the vendor partner teams and act as a point of quality control
  • Carry out any other duties commensurate with the purpose of the role, including the performance of duties outside normal working hours when required and work in a flexible manner

Education, Skills & Experience

 

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Finance Systems team management
  • Finance transformation and Finance system migrations
  • Core Finance End-to-End process and technology experience
  • Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP system management
  • Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP system configuration including functional, integrations, reporting and security

 

TECHNICAL / PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Finance & accounting systems knowledge in Oracle Fusion Cloud is critical
  • Relevant Finance System experience (to include successful implementation, optimisation and ideally post deployment)
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with technical and non-technical teams to translate needs into solutions
  • Ability to work within a matrix business (IT/Business) to shape and deliver the business plan and roadmap across business lines
  • Able to shape thinking and influence diverse and senior stakeholders

 

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a law firm
  • Current or previous Finance ERP (Oracle Fusion highly desirable) certifications
