Overview of role

This role requires a process-orientated, data driven analyst with attention to detail and good communication skills (written and verbal) to interact with the Finance Support teams, IT department and end-users.

The primary focus of the role is to assist with the maintenance, management, support and enhancement of all aspects of Walkers' Finance Support Application systems.

The Finance Systems Support Analyst is responsible for assisting with the support of Aderant Expert (AdEx) and associated Budgeting and Reporting systems – Bighand. The role involves working with the Finance Support team in system support and development including improving Finance Processes.

 

Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification

 

  1. Provides technical support for the financial systems and resolves issues that arise;
  2. Conducts periodic financial systems reviews and identify improvements;
  3. Monitors system capacities, investigate anomalies and resolves or escalates problems;
  4. Supports the FSD team in performing ad hoc analysis and create reporting solutions to satisfy operational and audit requirements;
  5. Supports the FSD team with managing month end and yearly tasks such financial budgets and year-end processes.
  6. Ad-hoc reporting, for both Finance and business, using SQL queries for interrogate data from Aderant Expert and Iridium BI.
  7. Supports all teams with documenting processes, procedures and policies as specified by Walkers' management and auditors;
  8. Assist with second line support requests for financial systems and responds promptly to inquiries from all users;
  9. Liaises with the training team to ensure that end users are trained based on the trends identified;
  10. Support IT / PMO with the evaluation and execution of upgrades, patches and fixes;
  11. Share knowledge of financial systems and train FSD team members to ensure continuation of service across all satellite offices;
  12. Any other duties assigned by the Finance Systems Manager and Finance Director or Chief Financial Officer from time to time;
  13. Liaison with vendors to resolve user queries e.g.  – Aderant and Bighand;
  14. Assists with the development and support of the in-house database applications; 

Education, Skills & Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computing or a related field of study;
  2. Microsoft certifications will be beneficial but is not mandatory;
  3. Familiarity with Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Office, SQL Server and Networking protocols;
  4. Experience working in a law firm or professional services firm in a similar role with an understanding of finance processes and practices;
  5. Experience with Aderant front and back end applications will be beneficial.
  6. Experience with Bighand BI and Budgeting (Iridium / Intellistat) application and processes  is beneficial
  7. Good Knowledge of Transact-SQL, stored procedures and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) report Builder and developer;
  8. Knowledge of Power BI
