Overview of role
Office: London (50% hybrid required)
To work as part of a global team delivering legal and professional support services to a high standard. The role will report directly to the Knowledge Lawyers in the Knowedge Management Department.

Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
- To be familiar with the types of resources for which KM is responsible including Document Drafter, 360, Intranet, the library, journals and on-line resources etc.
- To be familiar with the legal resources available to Walkers (both internal and subscribed) and to be able to conduct legal research in accordance with instructions from relevant lawyers or the KLs.
- To provide general document support, including preparation and application of house style in various document formats, document redactions and updating documents in accordance with instructions.
- Update documents including practice notes, guides and precedents for any practice area in accordance with instructions from relevant lawyers or the KLs.
- Maintain various databases with accurate and up-to-date information and apply appropriate metadata where relevant.
- To participate in special projects, and carry out any other duties commensurate with the purpose of the job as and when required.
- Administrative / secretarial services to KLs – including:
- assistance with document preparation;
- document conversions;
- maintenance of know-how and information libraries/databases;
- administration of legal site of intranet;
- extracting data and preparing spreadsheets;
- preparing OC and PKHC logs;
- general support for all KM material.
- Manage relevant databases such as the know-how manager.
Education, Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience as a Legal Secretary (or similar) or equivalent Paralegal and/or legal education.
- Attention to detail.
- High technical ability – comfortable using a variety of systems and software packages and quick to learn new systems / software.
- Participate in continuously improving services through critically evaluating systems of work, promoting new ideas and actively developing service improvements.
- Work independently using their own initiative and as a team member.
- Good organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Manage a varied workload and prioritise tasks and projects to meet work standards and personal performance targets.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Work in a flexible manner and respond to changing circumstances and emergency situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
