Overview of role

This role supports the Walkers European offices in London, Dublin, Jersey and Guernsey. This is a particularly varied and interesting role working with a fast growing and dynamic team. This role is based in the London office.

This role will work closely with the area leads to support the marketing, business development and communications plans in tandem with the rest of the European BD, Marketing and Communications team based in Ireland, London, Guernsey and Jersey, with support from other global team members.

This role reports to the Business Development & Marketing Manager of the Investment Funds & Corporate teams, who is based in Ireland.

Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification

  • Helping to support the Investment Funds & Corporate practice teams in the delivery of their BD & marketing activity and execution of business plans. Driving growth with our core clients in our key markets and ensuring activities identified are carried out on time and within budget.
  • Leading on the many joint BD and Marketing initiatives carried out by the Investment Funds and Corporate Group across our core markets globally. A key component of this will be to measure the success and return on investment to the business.
  • Supporting the wider European Business Development team on the many projects and initiatives we undertake to drive growth and client engagement across the region and beyond.
  • Managing conference sponsorships, seminars, and social events across the European region, contributing to best practice and reporting on KPIs.
  • Delivery of analysis, research and reporting for your practice group to help optimise their performance and understand opportunities to grow their business.
  • Supporting on regional key client accounts for our most important clients.
  • Collaborating with Communications, CRM, Design and Analytical teams to ensure we are maximising our resources with regards to our BD and marketing strategy.
  • Undertaking ad hoc research on markets, sectors, industries, organisations and individuals in support of European BD and Marketing.
  • Leading on regular reporting on the performance of the partners' and fee earners' BD efforts by tracking activity against business plans and budgets, highlighting case successes/developments, new client and instructions.
  • Project managing proposal delivery, ensuring that proposals are delivered on time and to a high quality and reporting back on results.
  • Provide effective reporting with strong internal communications to convey information on the group’s BD activities.
  • Work with partners and designated fee-earners on the development and production of all practice area materials in line with the brand guidelines ensuring key messages are effectively communicated.

Education, Skills & Experience

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite  
  • Ideally Knowledge of CRM systems (e.g. InterAction) and effective CRM strategy, mailing platforms (e.g. Vuture), webinar platforms (e.g. On24),
  • Copywriting, proofreading and editing skills are also essential to this role.

 

EDUCATIONAL / PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Degree qualified or relevant business or marketing qualifications considered.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Previous Business Development & Marketing experience gained in professional services, ideally but not essential legal services experience.
  • Experience working at executive or senior executive level, experience interacting with senior stakeholders.

  • Ability and willingness to occasionally work outside normal working hours when requested
  • Ability to travel when needed.
